Flinthill: the girls

Sh Ch Flinthill Wild Thyme JW, born in January 2006, is my very special girl. Not only has she excelled in the show ring, proved she can find birds on the moors and produced some beautiful progeny, she is a joy to live with and always makes me smile.

Thyme is well named as she is full of fun and energy, whether she is in the show ring, playing in the fields or on the moors, looking for birds.

Her mother is Wherathy Peters Present at Flinthill (Crufts group winner Ch Calderside Love in a Mist at Wherathy and Calderside Reluctant Knight) and her sire is Crookrise Rory (Sh Ch Crookrise Rhum and Calderside Nigael at Wherathy).

Thyme became a show champion aged only two years after some spectacular wins in the show ring, including Best Puppy in Breed at Crufts. She has 1 BOB, 3CCs and 2 RCCs.

But more importantly, she has had two lovely litters, the first by Crookrise Floyd and the second by Wherathy Walter at Calderside. Three of her puppies are in the KC Stud Book after winning well in the showring. And one of her daughters, Tia, owned by Barbara Wilkinson, is a UK show champion.

Thyme has had some wonderful progeny who in turn, have produced almost 50 grandchildren for her in the UK and overseas. A number of them are currently in the show-ring and three of them live with her at Flinthill.

Thyme had a wonderful time on the Munster Circuit in August 2012 in Ireland, winning a Green Star and Best of Breed and spending hours running on the beautiful Irish beaches with her pointer pals.

During 2013, she was back in the showring as a beautiful and energetic veteran and won Best Veteran Bitch at the Pointer Club Open Show, Best Veteran Gundog at Durham County Canine Association Open Show and Reserve Best Veteran in Show at the Southern Pointer Club Championship Show. She was also Best Veteran in Breed at Richmond CS and in October, was Best Veteran in Show at the Pointer Club of Scotland Championship Show.

In 2014, she won Reserve Best Veteran in Show at DCCA open show in July - her first time at a show since the previous year.   She loves being in the ring but has now hung up her show lead as she will be eleven years young in January, 2017.
